A partir de la construcción previa de una nave industrial, recibo el encargo de adaptar el edificio al turismo enológico en desarrollo en la zona. La nave de forma rectángular se asienta en una colina en el campo de Jérez, al pie de la torre almohade (S.XII) que da nombre al lugar. La relación con este edificio así como la voluntad de crear un microclima empleando el agua, la sombra y la vegetación, constituyen las claves del proyecto. Construimos un muro celosía con ladrillo artesanal antiguo y empleamos también columnas romanas que se pueden encontrar en la provincia y que se traían de Italia como lastre de los barcos en sus viajes comerciales.

I was commissioned to adapt an old industrial warehouse to the developing oenological tourism growing in the area. The rectángular shaped construction is situated on a hill in the fields of Jerez., under  the millenary “almohade” (tower 12th century)  that lends its name to the place. The interaction with this tower,  as well as the desire to promote a microclimate around the building using water, shade, and vegetation, were the project's conducting ideas. We erected a latticed wall built with handmade ancient bricks and included Roman columns. These can be found in the province fairly easily as they were frequently brought from Italy in commercial ships as ballast.
